People who want to stay up-to-date on what’s happening in the world and in the lives of their friends follow Twitter. But people who don’t have a Twitter account may not know how to download the app so that they can enjoy this social media service, too.
You don’t need to be logged into your Twitter account on your Android phone in order to download the app, either; it’s simple and easy to do, even if you aren’t technically savvy at all.
Getting the App
There are so many ways to use Twitter. You can keep up with celebrities, read breaking news headlines, or even have conversations with friends.
But one of the best things about using it is that you don’t need to be tied down to your desktop computer in order to post updates. That’s because there’s an app for that! And no, we’re not talking about Facebook Messenger.
We mean the Twitter app. Available on both iPhone and Android phones, this handy little program makes it easy to share thoughts and opinions with people who care about what you think (and make sure they know when something important is happening).
So if you want to stay in touch without checking your phone every 10 minutes (even though we totally understand why), download the Twitter app for Android today! It’ll only take a few seconds – just follow these steps:
1) Find the Play Store by clicking on Apps
2) Type Twitter into the search bar
3) Download and install
4) Enter username
Logging In
Once you’ve downloaded the Twitter app to your phone, you’ll have to log in with your username and password before using it. You can also log in with your phone number or email address.
When you first open the app, you’ll be taken to a screen that shows all of your most recent Tweets with the newest ones at the top. If you tap on any of these tweets, it will take you to that particular tweet so that you can reply or favorite it.
Tapping the tabs at the bottom of this screen lets you switch between viewing your timeline, viewing messages from other people and viewing who is following you. At the top right-hand corner of this screen is an option called Compose New Tweet. Tap on it if you want to post something new onto Twitter.
The Home Screen

With this app, you’ll never miss another tweet again. You can also add Tweets that are shared by others to your timeline so you can keep track of all the important things going on in the world.

Notifications
The latest version of the Twitter app (v4.0) allows you to receive notifications so that you never miss another tweet, even if your phone is on silent. If you have an iPhone or iPad, you can also enable push notifications so that your device alerts you every time there’s a new tweet.
You’ll never miss out on what’s happening in your world again! If you don’t see any notification badges on your timeline, it may be because Twitter isn’t currently supporting this feature for Android phones running versions 3.2 and below.
Check the Google Play Store for updates to the Twitter app
To manage how often these notifications come through, go into Settings > Notification and set Notifications under Timeline

The Profile Tab
If you’re not using the profile tab on your mobile device, you’re missing out on one of the most powerful features of Twitter. Create or update your profile with a quick tap to make sure it’s accurate and up-to-date. You can also add pictures, upload videos, add connections, edit your bio or add more information to About section. This tab is where all of your personalization options are found so take some time to make sure that everything is just right.
When editing your bio, be concise and include a clear statement about who you are. Uploading a picture might help give others an idea of who you are as well. Your photo will automatically be added to your timeline when you post an update which makes it even easier to share yourself with the world.
Settings
The first step to downloading the Twitter app is to go to your phone’s settings. This can be found in either your home screen or by clicking on your app drawer. Once there, find Application Manager and tap it.
Next, you want to click on All in order to see all of the apps that are installed on your phone. Scroll down until you find an app called Twitter and tap it. A pop-up will appear asking if you want to uninstall this app. If this is what you’re looking for, then choose Uninstall.
